Safe Haven is a place where you can go to get calm and culturally sensitive support if you are experiencing distress or suicidal thoughts.
It is a safe place where you can talk openly about how you are feeling and what you’re going through.
A place where you can feel supported and not judged.
You can talk to suicide prevention peer workers who may have experienced suicidal distress and recovery, and who understand what you are going through.
If you don’t feel like chatting, you can spend time in a quiet space and listen to music.
It’s free and you don’t need an appointment.
There are Safe Havens throughout ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Find your nearest one.â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â€‹

Safe Haven services are part of the Towards Zero Suicides initiative, the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Government’s commitment to reducing suicide rates in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø.
The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Government recognises that Emergency Departments can be a challenging environment for people experiencing suicide distress. Safe Havens provide an alternative space for people in distress which are staffed by peer workers.
There are 23 Safe Havens across ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. These Safe Havens are based on, or near, hospital grounds. They are staffed with suicide prevention peer workers to offer emotional support and provide information on available services.
People who have experience of suicide are co-designing models of care for Safe Havens that are tailored to their communities and local health districts.
