The Heart of Healing: Humanising Healthcare, 5 - 9 May 2025

Held annually across ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health, Human eXperience Week highlights the important connection between the experiences of patients, their families and carers, and the experiences of our staff and volunteers.

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health is committed to delivering kind and compassionate care that is personalised, culturally safe, and focused on what matters most to patients, their families and carers.

This commitment is outlined in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health's Future Health: Guiding the next decade of health care in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø 2022-2032 and Elevating the Human Experience – Our Guide to Action, launched during Patient eXperience Week 2021. 

This week, we will come together virtually and in-person, celebrating exceptional patient and staff experiences by sharing stories that balance the art and science of medicine, in a program that focuses on, the HeART of Healing.

Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District and the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Ministry of Health open Human eXperience Week at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre​​​

You can expect to hear about the profound connection between the science of medicine and the creativity, compassion, and empathy that define exceptional care.

South Western Sydney Local Health District and the Ministry of Health's Workforce Planning and Talent Development Team partner to bring you a program centred around Human at Heart: Culture Focused Leadership in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health.

Hosted at Liverpool Hospital's Education and Research Centre, you can expect to see how South Western Sydney Local Health District is embedding the newly launched Culture and Staff Framework.​

Book a front-row seat to learn more about how the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) will enhance human experiences across ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health by changing how people receive and deliver public healthcare.

9:30 - 11:00am - Changing how people experience and deliver care

Consumers, carers, community members and General Practitioners are invited to join a conversation about the journey of SDPR and the human voices and experiences who are informing this transformation. You can expect to hear about the benefits for all of us. Register to attend​.

3:00 - 4:30pm - Enhancing the human experience through SDPR

ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health staff are invited to learn more what SDPR means for your work in improving human experiences. You'll gain practical insights on how it will work​ and benefit various settings, including inpatient and maternity services.​ Register to attend​.

Thursday 8 â€‹May - 11am - 12:30pm (virtual)

The Bureau of Health Information brings you a virtual conversation about making the most of patient experience information, including practical guidance on using different sources of data from across ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. â€‹

In an interactive Q&A, you can gain insights from on the challenges and successes in using data to transform experiences.
