The Corporate Governance and Accountability Compendium (Compendium) outlines the governance requirements that apply to those organisations that form part of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health and sets out the roles, relationships and responsibilities of those organisations.
The organisations comprising ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health include local health districts, statutory health corporations, affiliated health organisations and administrative units within the Health Administration Corporation, such as the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Ambulance Service, HealthShare ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø and the Ministry of Health.
The establishment and compliance with principles of sound corporate governance is essential in a diverse multi-agency system such as the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Public Health System. It is also a mandatory condition of subsidy imposed on public health organisations under section 127 of the Health Services Act 1997.
The Compendium is a living document, and individual chapters will be updated to accommodate policy and legal changes as they occur.
