​There are a variety of statewide events recognised across ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health services to acknowledge, promote and celebrate the cultural diversity of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. Please contact your Local Health District representative for more information about these events and other activities throughout the year.
This annual event highlights the importance of language and culture in health services as well as providing an opportunity to raise awareness of health issues in multicultural communities. It occurs in the first week of September.
Multicultural Health Week - Multicultural Health Communication Service.
The annual Multicultural Health Communications Awards recognise excellence in multilingual health communication across ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health. In December 2023, Ms Deborah Willcox AM, Acting Secretary, ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health attended as the guest of honour and presented the winners for the at an in-person event at the State Library of ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. The Awards were established in 2003 by the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Multicultural Health Communication Service.
This is Australia's peak annual activity to raise awareness about the issues affecting refugees and celebrate the positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society.
Refugee Week is held from Sunday to Saturday of the week which includes 20 June (World Refugee Day). The week is coordinated by the Refugee Council of Australia.
