Life circumstances impact on everyone. When someone’s thoughts, emotions or experiences are distressing or ongoing, a clinician may give them a diagnosis of an illness, disorder or condition to describe what is happening. People are not their diagnosis, though some people find a diagnosis helpful.

  • What are some of the types of mental health conditions?
  • What is an anxiety disorder?
  • What is bipolar disorder?
  • What is borderline personality disorder?
  • What is depression?
  • What is an eating disorder?
  • What is obsessive compulsive disorder?
  • What is post-traumatic stress disorder?
  • What is psychosis?
  • What is schizophrenia?
  • What is substance use disorder?
