​â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹â¶Ä‹ ​​​The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health Recognition and Support for Carers: Key Directions 2024-2028​ provides a framework for ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health’s response to the needs of carers across the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø health system. It outlines the context for planning local health district, specialty health network and state-wide activities, along with highlighting areas for system growth.

This document builds on the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health Recognition and Support for Carers: Key Directions 2018-2020. This updated document complements policy and legislation, including the Carers (Recognition) Act 2010 and the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Carers Strategy 2020-2030​. and aims to work with and expand on the broader ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health approach.

The key directions are:

• Key direction 1: ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health will recognise, respect and empower carers as partners in patients’ care
• Key Direction 2: ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health will support patients who are carers to have better health and wellbeing
• Key Direction 3: ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health will support its employees who are carers
• Key Direction 4: The ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø health system will enable support for carers
