ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø recorded no new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
Twelve new cases were acquired overseas to 8pm last night, bringing the total number of cases in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø since the beginning of the pandemic to 5,251.
There were 4,790 tests reported to 8pm last night, compared with the previous day's total of 7,415.
Testing rates in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø are currently very low. ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health strongly urges anyone with even the mildest of symptoms, including sore throat, runny nose, cough, fever or headache, to isolate and get tested immediately, and remain isolated until a negative result is received.
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health administered 2,671 vaccines in the 24 hours to 8pm last night. The total number of vaccines administered in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø is now 577,088, with 195,007 doses administered by ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health to 8pm last night and 382,081 administered by Commonwealth Government providers, including GPs, to 11.59pm on Sunday 25 April.
An investigation into how COVID-19 transmission occurred between returned travellers who had been in quarantine at the Mercure Hotel has led ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health to reclassify one case, previously reported as overseas acquired, as locally acquired.
Of the three returned travellers, two were family members and stayed in connecting rooms. The third traveller, whose case has been reclassified as locally acquired, stayed in an adjacent room. All three people share the same viral sequence for the B1.351 variant of concern, first identified in South Africa. The investigation did not identify any further cases of transmission.
Western Australia's three-day lockdown ended at 12.01am AWST this (Tuesday) morning. As such, from 12.01am AEST in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø only people who have been to venues of concern are required to isolate; other people who have been in Perth or Peel recently, no longer need to stay at home.
People arriving in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø from WA must continue to complete a declaration form on the Service ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø website and confirm they have not attended a venue of concern.
Anyone who has been in the Perth or Peel areas since 17 April should regularly check the WA Health website for updates on venues of concern visited by confirmed cases of COVID-19.
If you have attended a close-contact venue as listed on the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health website, you should not enter ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø. If you have attended any of the venues listed on the website and you are already in ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø, you should immediately self-isolate and call ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health on 1800 943 553.
ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health is treating 95 COVID-19 cases, one of whom is in intensive care and being ventilated. Most (98 per cent) are being treated in non-acute, out-of-hospital care, including returned travellers in the Special Health Accommodation.
