Families from Blacktown and surrounding suburbs will benefit from a new, world-class NSW Ambulance superstation almost doubling its capacity.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard, joined by NSW Ambulance Executive Director Clinical Operations David Dutton and Health Infrastructure Chief Executive Sam Sangster met with local paramedics at the official opening of the Blacktown superstation.
鈥�This is a world-class ambulance superstation for Western Sydney paramedics, ensuring they can continue to provide exceptional emergency medical care to patients in this region,鈥� Mr Hazzard said.
鈥�The Blacktown superstation is part of the NSW Liberals & Nationals鈥� record $150 million infrastructure boom for metropolitan ambulance stations 鈥� the largest this state has ever seen.鈥�
Mr Dutton said that more than 11,000 patients have been transported to hospital by paramedics based at the Blacktown superstation since operations began last year.
鈥�Blacktown superstation will have capacity for up to 22 emergency ambulance vehicles , 10 more than the old Blacktown station, to ensure it meets future demand.
鈥�The superstation is part of a hub-and-spoke model which allows us to better deploy our paramedics where and when they are most needed.鈥�
