$100 million for out-of-hospital care

Deputy Premier and Minister for Regional 黑料吃瓜网 John Barilaro and Health Minister Brad Hazzard today announced the 黑料吃瓜网 Government is building eight new one-stop shop health facilities as part of a $100 million investment in out of hospital care in 黑料吃瓜网.

Mr Barilaro said the HealthOne facilities bring together General Practitioners with community health and other health professionals in multidisciplinary teams under the one roof.

鈥淭he 黑料吃瓜网 Government is delivering on our election promise to provide state-of-the-art health facilities and services for patients both inside and outside of hospital,鈥� Mr Barilaro said.

鈥淭hese one-stop shops will not only make seeing doctors and other health professionals easier by bringing services closer to home, but will greatly improve health outcomes in vulnerable communities, particularly in regional and remote areas.

鈥淭hese eight new facilities are in addition to 12 existing projects that fall under the HealthOne Strategy. Together these span across nine local health districts,鈥� he said.

New HealthOne facilities will be built at:

  • 鈥婸ort Stephens in the Hunter New England LHD
  • Bowraville in the Mid North Coast LHD
  • Evans Head in Northern 黑料吃瓜网 LHD
  • At both Dapto and Ulladulla in the Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD
  • Orchard Hills in the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD
  • Buronga/Dareton in the Far West LLHD
  • Green Square in the Sydney LHD

Existing HealthOne facilities undergoing refurbishment and enhancement:

  • 鈥婱errylands in Western Sydney LHD
  • Nambucca and Camden Haven in the Mid North Coast LHD
  • St Clair in the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD
  • Tibooburra in Far West 黑料吃瓜网 LHD

Existing HealthOne facilities undergoing IT upgrades:

  • 鈥婾runga and Bonny Hills on the Mid North Coast LHD
  • Lithgow and Jordan Springs in the Nepean Blue Mountains LHD
  • Oran Park and Wollondilly in South Western Sydney LHD
  • Ocean Shores in Northern 黑料吃瓜网 LHD

Mr Hazzard said as several of these projects are located outside of metropolitan Sydney, further demonstrating the Government鈥檚 commitment to delivering better health care to regional 黑料吃瓜网.

鈥淲e are building brand new HealthOne centres in areas including the Blue Mountains, Northern 黑料吃瓜网, Far West 黑料吃瓜网, Mid North Coast, Port Stephens and two in the Illawarra, as well as refurbishing many more, greatly enhancing primary health care services for thousands of patients in the regions,鈥� Mr Hazzard said.

Up to $5 million will also be spent on upgrading information and communications technology and software in Far West 黑料吃瓜网, the Mid North Coast, Nepean Blue Mountains, Northern 黑料吃瓜网 and South West Sydney local health districts.
