Forensic and correctional patients
The Mental Health (Forensic Provisions) Act 1990 allows information sharing and security protocols to be entered in respect of forensic and correctional patients by the Secretary of the Ministry of Health and the Secretary of the Department of Human Services (in respect of juvenile forensic and correctional patients) and the Commissioner of Corrective Services (in respect of adult forensic and correctional patients).

The
Memorandum of Understanding between ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health and the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Police Service established a protocol for access by the ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Police Service to Newborn Screening Blood Samples (Guthrie blood spots) held by ºÚÁϳԹÏÍø Health.

- apprehension of absconding civil patients.
